OTHERS June 2008

'*:^*:'*^:'**:^'*:^*:'*^:'*SPOTLIGHT*:^'*:^*:'*^:'**:^'*:^*:'*^

I thought it would be fun to spotlight one family member each month in our newsletter. Hopefully this spotlight section will help us know a little more about each other than we previously knew. Gramma Boggs graciously agreed to be our first spotlight ever. Thanks for answering Gramma! Enjoy her comments below.
What is your favorite color? I'm not sure I have a favorite unless its yellow. ButI like blue greens and corals equally both pastel and brights.
What are your hobbies these days? Right now I read a lot and I like to be with people especially little ones-children. I think they are just marvelous.
Do you have a childhood memory you'd like to share? When I was 10 or 11 I roller-skated a lot. There was a Scandanavian ice skater, probably an olympic person and I would pretend I was her. Her name was Sonja Heine (pronounced henny).
What is something on your bucket list? (A bucket list is a list of things you want to experience during your lifetime.) My bucket list takes me to the east coast, DC, and up the California coast.

=================NEWSLETTERS================

WARD WIDE WEB
JEREMY took the boys to Father's and Son's on Mother's Day weekend. He also took his scouts to the shooting range and had a great time there. These are the moments this outdoorsman looks forward to the most.

JENNIFER had a lovely Mother's Day. She was pampered and treated so well - here's a picture of the delicious breakfast Jeremy cooked up that morning... and yes, it is on a PLATTER - not a plate.

TREVOR had a blast at Fathers and Sons. He mostly enjoyed the water activities: water balloons, super-soaker squirt gun fight, and the boat. He loves to be dragged behind the boat in this raft (that's him on the right).

LOGAN turned 7 last month. He had an awesome birthday week full of parties, gifts, Indiana Jones and french fry cakes. Oh yes, and he's been playing Mario Kart Wii every day... thank you Gramma Elizabeth.

LIZZIE finished her Joy School year. She had a fun party to celebrate their graduation complete with grad caps and ice-cream treats.

JACKSON is our talking boy! He has picked up so many words this month. Our favorites are Grink! (drink), mooey (more), bah-tye (bath time), bah-boo (bubbles), and see-ya (cereal).

MOTSCHIEDLER MADNESS
Ken and I kicked off the month by going to an event at a beautiful estate on the San Joaquin River. We went with another couple and dressed in our best summer clothes. There was a lot to eat, drink and see. We ran into old friends, put a bid on some items in the auction and had a great time. It was fun to run into people we do not see very often.

The following weekend I threw a baby shower for one of my teachers at our school. We did it in the jungle theme. We went a little overboard (as we always do) but it turned out really cute. Check out pictures on our blog: http://web.mac.com/kenmott/Site/Welcome/Entries/2008/5/10_It’s_A_Jungle_Out_There.html
We celebrated mother's day by first meeting Ken's parents at a park for a game of Petanque. They do this every Sunday morning and have been trying to get us to come. It's a French game played by Fresno locals from France (of course). They have a French club who is currently working on doing a Sister City between Fresno and a city in France. The game consists of throwing a metal ball at a designated spot. The team whose balls are the closest wins. It was surprisingly a lot of fun and I wouldn't mind going again. The players are pretty serious about it; they even play in tournaments up and down California. They are working with the park where they play on building a Petanque court. Following the game, the 4 of us headed over to Ken's parent's house for a yummy brunch with fresh fruit, quiche, and potato pancakes.

In the afternoon we headed to my mom's house where we had yummy deserts, opened presents and play Wii. We spent the entire time setting up each of our characters. It was so funny and kind of amazing how much we could make the characters look like ourselves. Isn't it interesting to see what other people think of us?

Ken's big news is that he finally got a much needed haircut. Unfortunately, the hairdresser cut off the last of his brown hair and he now has a head of silver. Where did it come from? I think maybe his boss may have had something to do with it.

Other than that, we're happy, healthy and still in love. We will celebrate our first year wedding anniversary next month. My, does the time fly when you're having fun!

See ya lata!

Great Scott!
Our little Scott family is doing wonderfully! Spring has sprung, and our garden in growing like mad. The picture is of our Peruvian daffodils.
They are by far the most impressive of our little seedlings! Bekah is walking really well now (and running...) and she's started babbling whole sentences. She's such a mimic. She's repeat what you say to her all the time. Now we have to be super careful what we say around her!! Work is going well for us both. And we're excited to find that we can afford for ben to go part time this summer and stay home with Bekah during the days!

Don't forget to check out our blog, we've got lots of pictures up, recipes and updates. http://www.greatscottfamily.blogspot.com/ -Utah Scotts

LA FAMILIA DURAN
Louie caught the bad guy who was hiding in the tree. The rookie officer wanted to run and chase the guy. Louie just got in his car and followed him till he cornered him.

Elizabeth has been ditching school because the teachers are through teaching and the kids act weird when they are bored.

Samuel is in summer school at Fresno State and is loving it. Not really. Summer school is hard.

Jordan bought a new car. Paid cash for it. He says, "Its a red Chevy Camero. It's fast and a cop magnet."

Mica graduated from high school. Yippee! She also had her birthday and is 18 years old. Now she is looking for a job and is registering for college.
