OTHERS July 2008

'*:^*:'*^:'**:^'*:^*:'*^:'*SPOTLIGHT*:^'*:^*:'*^:'**:^'*:^*:'*^

I thought it would be fun to spotlight one family member each month in our newsletter. Hopefully this spotlight section will help us know a little more about each other than we previously knew. Say hello to JONATHAN BOGGS...

What is your favorite color? Blue and Red

What are your hobbies these days? Yard work, bicycling, photography

Do you have a childhood memory you'd like to share? How about an "adulthood" memory: Many years ago, I had a janitorial service and specialized in cleaning small offices. I cleaned one particular office every night. In the bathroom, there was a curved brush on the back of the toilet. I thought it would be a good brush to use to clean the toilet. I used it every night for several weeks and after using it would put it back on the back of the toilet. One day, I was in a store and thought I would see if I could find a brush like that to use. I search the brush section until I finally found it. It was labeled "Coffee Pot Brush". And no, I never told them in the office that I had used their brush.

What is something on your bucket list? (A bucket list is a list of things you want to experience during your lifetime.) I want to purchase a sailboat and go sailing.

Motschiedler Madness
June was a rush of excitement.

It was the last month of my school's first year. We had 3 nights of graduations. The kids were adorable in their caps and gowns. We finally got our Trolley Train and it was a huge hit! It consists of two life-sized cars, one of which is a convertible for the adults. The train follows a track around our private park over looking the San Joaquin River. It's a lot of fun. Come by for a ride if you're ever in the area.

Friday was our 1st year wedding anniversary. We can't believe how the year flew by. We celebrated by going to Flemmings Steakhouse and reminisced about our week long wedding adventure in Hawaii. We had a great time but our stomachs were full long before we were done eating. We love that place. That was the end of a very busy week so we were tired and made it an early night.

We said our good-byes to Patti that week. Her funeral was very nice and it was great to see so much of our family. It's too bad we all don't get together more often. Patti's old ward was amazing and did a wonderful job providing lots of great food, a nursery for the kids and support. I found out later that one of the girls I work with was in the kitchen and is friends of the Binford/Butler clan.

At the beginning of the month, we went down to L.A. for the weekend to visit Ken's brother. We stayed in the W Hotel which is a pretty cool place. We had a great room with a fabulous view. On Saturday, Ken and I went to the Getty Museum. That place is pretty amazing. We saw lots of beautiful old art and some not so beautiful old art. It was a great day. We met up with Ken's brother and his friends and Ken's parents for dinner. The following morning we all went to a Petanque tournament, played a little Petanque, all had lunch together, and then hit the road. It was great to see Tony and we were sad to leave him.

Ken and I are planning to go to Pismo for the weekend of the 18th through the 20th. Who else is going???????

Until then...ciao!

WARD WIDE WEB
We will be at Pismo from Friday to Wednesday. We just can't resist that Splash Cafe!

JEREMY has BIG news this month - we're talking HUGELY BIG news. His team - the Fresno State Bulldogs - WON the college world series! He went to the parade, he bought the official t-shirt and he made 2 posts on our family blog about this championship game. The line he kept repeating all week was, "This is a once in a lifetime event." And it really was - who knows if the Bulldogs will ever pull this off again.

JENNIFER was happy to visit with so many Boggs' "out-of-towners" at Patti's funeral, wake, bbq/swim party. It was such an emotional day. It was so hard to say goodbye and feel only a bit of what her kids were feeling that day. There was so much love to feel too. You can't help but feel good when you are surrounded by so many good people.

TREVOR enjoyed a trip to San Francisco to see a Giants baseball game. He was stoked to be in the AT&T ballbark for his first professional baseball game.

LOGAN started swim club this month. His coach was a little skeptical when she saw his size, but warmed up to him pretty quick after she saw him in the water that first day.

LIZZIE has been our little fish. She swims all day every day and can't get enough pool time. Her tan lines are beyond good.

JACKSON is a thriving two-year-old boy. He is beyond busy. Here's what he did in one week: popped every key off of Jeremy's work laptop, emptied an entire economy size bottle of maple syrup in the living room and kitchen, and killed off another fish pouring bacon flavored mints in to the tank. He does have his cute moments though, when he likes to wear Lizzie's dress-up shoes and walk around the house sweeping and doing his "housework". It's all priceless, we know.
