OTHERS June 2013

Mott Quad (formally Motschiedler Madness)

Ken has been super busy with work and with our business. We received a few offers on our apartments and are now in escrow! We hope to close in August. We've also made an offer on a lot in Clovis in hopes to build apartments AND we're looking into another complex to purchase in Fresno. Ken's friend/business partner is flying into town from Australia this week and they have a busy week ahead meeting with lawyers and brokers and banks and architects. I'm sure they'll sneak in a very important trip to Costco somewhere in there too.

Allyson has been busy being a mama and working for the school. Deshy will be starting at Bluff View this month so she is planning on going back 2 days a week  once he starts. Harris will get to come hang out with her too! She is working on scheduling lots of fun visitors for the school so that Deshy will have a fun experience.

Desh has started to potty train in preparation of attending Summer School. Round 1 didn't go so well, so we'll be starting round 2 this week. He has been having fun meeting friends and swimming at Grandma & Grandpa's every chance we get. He is starting swim lessons next week at Jan Thomas. He is so excited to meet new friends, have new experiences and learn lots of new things at school. Momma is running out of ways to entertain him so it will be great for everyone. His teacher is super sweet and I know he will love her.

Harris is no longer 'Cranky Hanky'; he is now 'Happy Harry'. He is the sweetest, happiest, most social little guy. He loves to crinkle his eyes and smile at anyone who talks to him.

All in all, we're happy, healthy and looking forward to a fun summer.

MISSIONARY EMAIL FROM SISTER CHELSY BOGGS

this week has been pretty awesome.
Let me start from this weekend and go backwards. Today...I cut about 6-7 inches off my hair. It now rests on my shoulders. just barely long enough to put in a pony-tail.

Yesterday: Karen and Chuck came to church! They are the most amazing people ever. They are not married or dating, they are a members parents, she takes care of them seeing as she is their only living relative. her step dad and her mother in law. chuck has been to church before but karen hadnt. They came to hear sis whatcott play the piano. and they loved church. hopefully they will come back again.

Saturday: i got to go to a baptism in oak ridge . I was with sis manwill this weekend and one of the people she taught was getting baptized. we then went on splits with the poplar creek and melton lake sisters. so that was fun. The baptism was amazing. It was two brothers and the spirit was sooo strong. One of them Travis, his room mate was there. Never had a missionary lesson before but was committed for baptism right there after the baptism. its set for june 15th! it was sooooooo cool.

Mon-Fri: We got Makayla's baptism date figured out. She will be baptized along with her sis, Makenzie on June 8. It was cool, we finished up Makayla lessons on Wed and then on Thurs we had our first official lesson with her little sister. We had gone over to their house to get in contact with makayla but she wasnt home, but we met makenzie. we gave her a book of mormon and invited her read it. When we met with the both of them on thurs we found out they were reading together every night and that makenzie knows it true. We committed her for baptism right then. The spirit was sooo strong.

I would have more to say but i cant remember much else. I wrote it all down on a postit what i was gonna say but i left it in my planner...which i cant find....i prolly left it at home or the mission home...

anyways hope ya'll are doing great...sorry not writting back to letters recently...things have been really busy. Im working on writing all ya'll back, promise.  Love all ya'll!

MISSIONARY EMAIL FROM ELDER DAVID BOGGS

Hola de Annapolis! so something funny. the sun actually isn't shining.
but our appartment (aka the tank) is clean (i never thought cleaning
the kitchen would actually be enjoyable) and i feel like im in a tank
of water with all this lovely humidity! But hey. I'm not here to enjoy
the weather. I'm here to be a missionary and we have air conditioning.
So i am happy!

On to the shout outs!!
.Mack Osborne received his call and is going to the Salt Lake City
(north, south, or just Salt Lake?) MIssion Spanish speaking
.Haley John received her call to the Provo Ut Mission.
I agree with my dad when he said "I guess there are not enough Mormons in
Utah."
If you want a shout out for your birthday I'm gonna need a list. I
have some but not all so let me know when your's is!

ADVICE FOR ALL WHO RECENTLY RECIEVED MISSION CALLS: become familiar
with Preach My Gospel! it will save your sanity! (if you have any left
still)

*news caster voice*

"In local news, Elder Boggs and Elder Foell experienced a miracle
Sunday morning on their way to church. After calling members for rides
and asking for taxi information, they just could not figure out how
their investigator Guillermo would be able to get to church. The
member he was going to ride with fell sick Saturday night and she was
not able to make it to church, leaving Guillermo without a ride.
Unable to give him a ride themselves, the Elders decided to drive to
his apartment and wait outside. If no members were able to give
Guillermo a ride, they would have hailed a cab and ridden with him to
the church. While they were waiting outside, a silver Camry with
tinted windows drove by. The driver saluted them as he drove by, did a
U-turn, pulled up next to them, and rolled down his window. To their
surprise and joy, the driver was none other than a less active member
that they had visited earlier this past week. They found out that he
is a taxi driver and he was in the area to pick up someone to take
them to the mall, but he would be able to come back and take Guillermo
to the church. So in the end, if you do all you can and have faith
that miracles will happen, they will.

"This is the Spa Creek Area Elders' Weekly News Cast hoping you have a
wonderful day and an even better week."

MISSIONARY EMAIL FROM IRMA MICAELA DURAN

THE CAPS LOCK IS BROKEN, SO IT'S GOING TO LOOK LIKE I'M YELLING THE ENTIRE TIME. WEEEELLLP. PRONTE.
WE WENT TO PENICHE TODAY. THEY HAVE THE OCEAN THERE. IT WAS REALLY GREAT TO SMELL THE SALTY AIR AGAIN. I MISS BEING SURROUNDED BY NATURE. IT'S INCREDIBLY PEACEFUL.
WE'VE BEEN BLESSED THIS WEEK WITH MANY REFERENCES FROM ALL OVER THE PLACE. WE'VE BEEN STRUGGLING FINDING NEW INVESTIGATORS AND I'M GRATEFUL FOR THE LESSONS WE DID HAVE THIS WEEK. WE'RE STILL WORKING WITH QUITE A FEW MEMBERS.....ALL THESE PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS AND NEED SOME SUPPORT. WE'VE BEEN WORKING PRETTY CLOSELY WITH THE RS PRES...SHE DOESN'T HAVE AND COUNSELORS. THIS BRANCH IS A BIT UNDEVELOPED AND THERE'S JUST A LOT OF POINTING FINGERS AT THE OTHER. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAN HAPPEN IN THE CHURCH OF CHRIST. WE'RE HERE TO HELP THESE PEOPLE GAIN A STRONGER TESTIMONY OF THE GOSPEL PRINCIPLES AND TO HELP THEM HAVE MORE TRUST IN ONE ANOTHER. ANY TIPS?
THINGS ARE GOING OKAY BETWEEN ME AND MY COMP. I'M AWARE THAT IRMA BAER SENT OUT AN EMAIL ABOUT THIS. JUST PRAY FOR THE BOTH OF US AND THAT WE CAN PUT OUR DIFFERENCES ASIDE AND DO THE LORD'S WORK. IT'S DEFINITELY A REALLY GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE. I'M VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE GIFT OF PRAYER AND FASTING AND THE ATONEMENT. THE LORDS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT.
IT'S BEEN STARTING TO GET WARM HERE. I'M NOT A FAN, SABES? I SWEAT LIKE I'M DYING....WELL, NOT YET. THAT'S NOT TRUE, I HAVEN'T BEEN SWEATING SUPER BAD, BUT ENOUGH TO MAKE GO...."YUCK."

LOOK I HAVE TO GO. I LOVE YOU ALL! THANKS FOR THE BDAY WISHES. 23. YIKES. SORRY THIS EMAIL IS KINDA LAME.

COM AMOR,

-IRMÃ DURÁN

PS: LETTER TO PRES

Hello, President. We had a really great turn out of people at church yesterday. We went and visited a few less actives and they came to church! We were SO happy to see them there and receive the blessings of the Lord. We've yet to talk to Presidente Cristof about his goal for people in church. We'll do that this week. We've been doing the training faithfully, but it's been difficult with the practices, because we haven't had many investigators to "role play with." This week we're studying ch 6 in PMG together during our comp studies, it should be good.
